Indications of Aconitum Pentarkan

Common cold, acute otitis media, headache due to cold and related problems

lnflammatory fevers
Fever is a complex response of the body to infection and inflammation and is a part of the body’s defense mechanism. It is connected with the development of immunity. A rise in body temperature is referred to as “Pyrexia” which is due to disturbance of the heat-regulating mechanism of the body against the action of toxins or unwanted substances in the body or due to excessive muscular exercise, exposure to high temperature, and various nervous factors or due to cold and inflammations.

Otitis due to cold
Inflammation of the ear may be internal or external but both are referred to as an earache. Very often it is due to a cold and with the help of this medicine passes within a couple of days. But if it is due to infection with other associated symptoms of humming, buzzing, or discharge, the case may need the opinion of a specialist.

Headache due to cold
It is a frequently accompanying common symptom of many disorders but in most cases is transient, temporary, and of minor importance. In a few cases, it is associated with serious organic disease and such cases need to be differentially understood. Headaches due to cold, fever, and inflammations are not severe and are easily relieved by this medicine.

Aconitum Napellus 3x 25 mg
Belladonna 3x 25 mg
Bryonia Alba 3x 25 mg
Ferrum Phosphoricum 2x 25 mg
Gelsemium Sempervirens 3x 25 mg
Lactose Q. S.

Sphere of Action

Aconitum Napellus: It covers the complaints caused by exposure to dry cold weather, a draught of cold air, or very hot weather. It is a valuable remedy for inflammatory fever with mental anguish and restlessness, fever with much heat, dry burning skin, violent thirst, red face or alternate red and pale face, nervous excitability, pulse hard, frequent, and accelerated. It is useful in otitis due to cold.

Belladonna: It is indicated for high fever with dry, burning heat, pulsation of the carotids, heat, redness, and bloatedness of the face, absence of thirst with fever, shivering on being even slightly uncovered. Otitis media, tearing pain in the middle and external ear, pain that causes delirium, acute and sub-acute conditions of the eustachian tube, and difficulty in swallowing are covered by this medicine.

Bryonia Alba: Feverish condition, pulse full, hard, tense and quick, chill with external coldness and internal heat, easy profuse perspiration after slight exertion, dry cough excited by tickling in the throat and worse when entering in a warm room, bitter taste of mouth with white-coated tongue, dryness of mouth and tongue, excessive thirst, joints red, swollen, hot with stitches and tearing worse on least movement, every spot is painful on pressure.

Ferrum Phosphoricum: Useful in the first stage of all catarrhal and inflammatory fevers. The first stage of otitis, cold in the head, inflamed tonsils, congestion of the lungs, and pneumonia. Other clinical conditions are soft pulse, dry cough with a sore chest, and hoarseness. It also increases hemoglobin and stimulates the immune system.

Gelsemium Sempervirens: Indicated for fever without thirst with shivering fits, chilliness up and down along the spine, heat, and sweat stage long and exhausting, dull, heavy headache with the heaviness of eyelids, muscular pain, and stiffness of neck and shoulders, fullness at the root of nose with sneezing. Acute coryza, watery excoriating discharge with dull headache are also covered.

Dosage of Aconitum Pentarkan

Unless otherwise prescribed by the physician, at the beginning of the complaints, take 1 to 2 tablets hourly, and once the acute complaints start to subside, take 1-2 tablets thrice daily. Children are to receive 1 tablet every two hours in the acute stage, then 1 tablet thrice daily. If complaints are not relieved, consult a specialist.
